In today’s business reality (and beyond), the word “leader” is mentioned in countless situations and contexts.
When you type “leader” into a Google search engine, you get approximately 2,500,000,000 results. This means that “leader” is over twice as popular online as Star Wars , which gets about 1,200,000,000 results.
The results of this simple exercise inspired me to pursue an idea I’ve been mulling over for some time – a series of articles under the title “Leader – It’s So Easy to Say.”
As an executive coach, mentor, and trainer, I’ve been working with leaders, their teams, and organizations for over 15 years. This series is part of a broader project I’m implementing called #LeadershipHUB. It is intended to be a casual walk through the wide world of leadership, viewing it from various perspectives:
🔶 the leader
🔶 the team
🔶 the organization
The intention behind the #LeadershipHUB project is to inspire the development of conscious leadership by inviting reflection, discussion, and open exchange of opinions about leadership in the world around us—whether among leaders themselves, their co-workers, business partners, or team members.
The figure of 2,500,000,000 search results illustrates the scale of the usage, or perhaps the overuse, of the term leader.
What’s your opinion on this topic?
In the upcoming articles, I will share my reflections on leadership. I’ll start with the roles and functions of leaders, the expectations organizations and their teams have of them, as well as the challenges and needs leaders themselves express during the workshops or coaching/mentoring processes I conduct.
Given my personal 20 years of leadership experience, the subsequent texts will also provide an opportunity to look at what (if anything) has changed in the world of leadership over the past few years.
I invite you to follow along, read the upcoming posts, and join in creating the space that is #LeadershipHUB.
Jarek 😊
